That is really cool John!  I saved the image and added it to an ever-growing collection of images to be made into a decal (one of these days).  Alps would have a really hard time with that robin's-egg blue, but I could include a masking template wit the decal.  Mask and paint the car, then apply the decal over it.  The decal would simply be white and black.  That the Alps printer can do really well.  :)

Size-wise, what car would be a good fit for this? It looks more modern than the standard 4-bay covered hoppers. Maybe one of the Atlas modern hoppers?  I'm not expert on this stuff.

IMHO, it could fit anywhere, boxcar, airslide, Hi cube, anything with a large surface, no?

Agreed. I just wanted to make an accurate model of the real car which was tagged.  But yes, it could be adapted to any large surface.

The exact car doesn't exist in N yet. Looks like a modern Plastic pellet hopper...

I see three possible surrogates,

The Atlas Pressureaide

The Atlas 5800 (plastic pellet version)

or the IMRC Trinity hopper

If you search Google for biafra, or biafra-cbs, there are many examples of his graffiti.

I used to be a bigger HBAK fan, but Aware is really growing on me:

We discussed this one last year, here on TRW. I have the N scale decal ready, but before I offer it to the TRW members I need to build the model and see how the decal fits.  I'll get to it eventually.  :)

Ryan, I disagree. That car is a ACF Center Flo and there are a bunch in N scale.

Pete, please put me down for one of those decals when you make them.

Peteski,

I'll join the crowd that would like that decal as well...  :)

I'm an Aware fan as well....  :P

Cheers,

Nice Job Brian!  I was thinking of doing that one too.

When the decals are ready, I'll announce it on the forum and take orders.

Catt, I assume that you want N scale decal (not Z).  :)

BTW, the Biafra hopper seems to have more hatches (visible in the photo) than a regular 3-bay or 4-bay ACF hopper. Or am I just seeing things?

@peteski sign me up for any Aware decals that you make.
Aware, and Ichabod are my two favorite writers out there.

The car is National Steel Car 5810cf covered hopper.  AFAIK, no one make this car in N.

The Atlas 5800 plastics hopper is very close, and is an excellent model.
