Yes, it's slightly large at 1:144, so it has to be segregated, but I was personally offended by the original paint scheme. The rework restored some balance to the world and gave me some personal satisfaction.

After a 8 year hiatus and a couple hair pulling evenings, I got my ALPS printer working again.

Nice!  Windows10 and USB maybe?
Mine still runs, problerm-free, hassle-free, under Win98SE and XP and parallel port.  :)

Mine is running on a VMWare virtual NT Workstation connected via an Axis parallel-port print-server with the two-way communication disabled.

Nice!  Windows10 and USB maybe?

I had a dual boot XP/7 machine with a PCIe parallel port that I had lost all the COM ports in the device manager.  I finally gave in and did a clean install of XP.

The only casualty was Google Chrome which they don't even let you download for XP anymore.   :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Finally got around to taking some video of the Atlas S2 I painted.

All you need is a bunch of black smoke and you'll be good to go Bill.   :D

As long as the "electronic smoke" stays in the decoder, I'm in. Maybe on the next generation of LokSound decoders.

In the true spirit of model railroading, I have completely waffled from my last project(s), only to return to my favorite, the Burlington Northern in the Twin Cities, Autumn '91.

To get things rolling for things to come someday, and to provide quick and dirty operations, a mock up of a nearly absolute minimalist corn syrup transload facility, à la Lance Mindheim, MRP 2010:

There are few to no corn syrup transfer facilities that I know of here in Minnesota, since everything is within trucking range from the production plants. I'm willing to concede a bit of prototype fidelity on an 8 1/2" x 26" (plus cassette) module for maximum operations, plus corn syrup tankers are pretty neat

Benchwork commences tomorrow, nothing special, 1x2's with 1/4" MDF top, and a thin layer of cork. ME code 55 everything, going to have another go at soldering feeders, last time didn't go well  :scared:

More great work everyone, but it's just not the same weekend update without Puddy's postings. Here's to a quick recovery, Mike, get well soon.

Checking in from the Steel City, where I'm visiting with daughter no. 2 in advance of her birthday tomorrow.  Many were the goings on, first to drop off some foam at Eric's where the scenery is flying fast and furious, then to Ed's to chill with the goons in the presence of my old yard.

Woke up Saturday and enjoyed a visit to R.L. Smith's Erie-Lackawanna themed layout with eric2220 and KCSphil.

I really admired the simplicity of the construction, and the track plan.  It makes me feel like I might be able to wade back in with a layout that is a little more complete sometime in the near future.

There's lots of neat little vignettes tucked into the various corners.

Eric showed off his newly acquired BLI M-1, which looked great rolling through Ron's scenery.

We finally left there, and headed to the CRHS Rail B Q in Newport, PA, where somehow this was allowed to happen...

More sites to see and roads to travel today.  Perhaps another update shortly...
