There were alot of interesting lease arrangements in the 1940s and early 1950s.

DRGW and The Missabe leased steam power back and forth With Rio Grand units hauling Ore trains on the range and Missabe Yellowstones running in the Rockies!

  Cris,
   Erie was all diesel by the time I moved to Waldwick late 1954.
  have seen pics of dead steam at Croxton near the O&W FTs as
  late as 1955,if the dates are correct.
  only saw one steamer live on the Erie about 53,it was running from
  Paterson to Croxton, lite, and blowing its whistle the whole time,belive
  it was one of the C Class that was leaving Paterson for the last time
  after the Yard was Dieselized.

There's pics of the roundhouse in one of the PRRT&HS books where they had to add a elevated piece of rail to the turntable for them to fit.
