Yes. I hate those damn track pads and use a cordless track ball. But yes, I am aware of the writs ghost the track pad creates.
Addendum - Right after typing the above message I went to look at another message I had just typed here at work while eating lunch and, lo, the same issue appeared, with a couple chunks of text shrunk beyond readability. Funnily, I don't have a trackpad here at work, so that rules that theory out..
What I don't understand is why you no see the tags within the text when you look at it before you post it? Does your browser handle the text editing windows differently than mine? In mine (as I showed in the earlier screen capture) shows the actual text of my message and all the formatting tags as clear human-readable text. Is your browser not showing the tags? I only see the post in its final form if I hit the Preview button (and the plain text entering window still shows the unformatted version.
