I just hope that whatever containers do get released from here on out include the forward recess on the bottom for container chassis use. Seems not all manufacturers are aware that those exist.

I have no idea if I should be excited by undecorated containers from an unknown company or not.

Maybe MT can resurrect their 40 ft boxes.  There should be some demand for early containers, given the number of 60s/early 70s COFC flats made recently.  Most of the 40 ft models are too modern for that period.

That advertising feels kinda like DI to me.

I'm still hoping for more containers from the 80s. If I recall correctly, CP was heavily involved during that time as well as SeaLand. SeaLand even had 35' containers for quite some time.

The Idaho Belt isn't supposed to be in the intermodal business. One of the original aspects of the freelance road was it was for manifest traffic, but with all the good new models coming out, there is a temptation to change that philosophy. It is a way to keep me from having to buy a bunch of new rolling stock, as I have very few intermodal cars, just some Walthers well cars and some TwinStacks, none of which ever ran reliably enough on NTRAK quality rails to operate often.

I would be shocked if it was DI (but happily shocked).  Recall that FVM used the same stealth tactic with their GEVOs, so maybe it's them.  It also wouldn't shock me if it were a new player.

Now to convince someone to make a rib-side 53' well car...

This flood of modern container has convinced me to switch eras and locations, and announcements like these only help to strengthen my desire to create many long, long stack trains.

Rib side well cars would be much appreciated, maybe those are in ScaleTrains future?

I'm glad that the CSX Hanover Sub has Jack's Mountain tunnel, so that means no double stacks on this line  :D

Meh.  MT's 40ft container is out of scale (wide) and won't fit in well cars such as DI's twinstack.   Much as I would welcome some new schemes on it, I'd end up limiting my purchases while wishing for something better.  I'm certainly hoping to see DIs sheet post announcement actually happen, and hoping that I'm not distracted when they hit MBK.   

I should say that MT's model would be absolutely fine if you're just modeling COFC and not the transition to stacks.  However, certain schemes (e.g. APL red eagle) would be really frustrating if early stacks are your thing like they are for me.

Jagged Ben:  I model 1974, so well cars are still far in the future.  All I need are containers for my MT, BLMA, TW, and narrow gauge flatcars.
