Just a quick return to good old down under OZ , there is  Railpage Forums which cover all of Oz with sub sections covering every possibility . Try having a look at this sections -     https://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11367304.htm      And  this one  https://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11397681.htm . There are others on this WA page which may help you out ,also most of us down under are usually willing to help out with the stranger requests from overseas .

  Cheers   Tom in Oz .

Hoping to have a couple modules at Altoona. They are just for demo purposes. Also some stuff for sale. Our next official showing is Trainfest.

Just a quick note to say thank you to the nice fellows at CMR. They took the time to work with me and make sure my signals were wired correctly. Their signal driving system works well and they customized it to my particular situation. I recommend it to others. Stop by Trainfest this November for a demonstration.

Well well well.

My layout partner Jim sent me a lengthy email right before leaving for his move out east. Its never a good sign when it begins with "Wanted to first thank you for being a part of the journey that was the Galesburg City Job."

Jim is depressed. He has moved back home to care for his aging parents. I wish him the best.

Now, I'm faced with what to do with something I've invested several years of time and money into. For now, I will still plan on exhibiting my portion of the layout at Trainfest in November. As to its future, I am unsure. I love it's scope and idea. I am still enthusiastic about it. But some of the fun is gone. It is up to me to carry on or abandon it. I think I will place it in storage after Trainfest and consider other projects.

Ah life...

Oh man, that's a major bummer, on all fronts.

But remember, the joy is in the doing. So I'm sure your next project is gonna be plenty kick a$$ too.

Back to the basement???

Bummer about Jim.  Sounded like he was going to be able to stick around for awhile.

Back to the basement???

Bummer about Jim.

Bummer for sure. No warning. Just a thanks & I'm out for several reasons. He admitted that he was in a "dark place" at the time. I tried to remain positive. I did talk him into taking a break for a couple years. He claims he put his modules in storage. I just don't understand as his wording was suggesting that he was also done with our friendship. Thats the part that bothered me.

Sorry to blab on. Its therapy I suppose.

As things have been "all quiet on the western front",  I am cosidering some new layout projects that have been in my mind for a few years.Yes, its back to the basement for a time. I find however, that its more fun to travel around the region and visit with other modelers. Stay tuned here... First however, a new roof.

I have seen your modular the last couple years at Trainfest and as I told you then, awesome. I agree with Ed about the joy you’ve Had with it and and I believe your next venture will still be a joy. By the way Jim is posting his portion on Model Railroad Shelf Layouts, it’s a FB group. Looking forward to meeting again in Milwaukee in November.

I said hello to Bill and his Galesburg “City Job” at Trainfest in the Milwaukee, Wi. area this morning. As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures from a IPad Pro this afternoon I will. As I have noted in previous Trainfest visits with the “city Job” it is the height of the layout that stands out and then Bill’s modeling skills that set a great scene. He always had a good crowd viewing the layout. I know I preach to the “N” choir here, but you have such a great scale to tell a story in. A few of the scenes had on the fascia pictures of the actual thing, greatly duplicated by Bill.

Bill is in the first picture, no idea where the other 2 went

I tried saying hello twice on Saturday.  I couldn't get near the layout!

Good job Bill!
