We have just released a new series of workhorses at Showcase Miniatures.  This pair of 70s era 9500s are being introduced as tractors with other variations coming...

Oh yes.....

This is one of the trucks I have been hounding Walter over for years (this and the Brigadier). This was one of GMC's last stabs at the class 8 market and this generation was probably one of GMC'S most interesting designs.

Dave V, Ed K and myself should be especially interested in this release as these were the backbone or Conrail's MOW fleet.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Excellent Walter!  Showcase Miniatures keeps coming with new models which fill in gaps we had since the infancy of N scale!  Well done!

I also noticed on those models that you painted the insides of the window frames black to hide the thickness of the cast shell.  That is a very handy trick - I'll have to remember that one.

Anyone who models from the 70's to today should have at least one of these on their layouts.  Especially if you have a farm scene.  Still see some of these trolling around farm and field pulling grain and hay trailers.

Thanks for the comments guys.

*These trucks have been many years coming and more recent prodding helped it get going.  I photographed one of these nearly 30 years ago and dug up the pics to design it.

*Yep, there are all sorts of ways to hide the out-of-scale (but necessary) thicknesses to make these cast correctly.  Finding new methods all the time...

*Yes, these will definitely make it to Z Scale...

Oh yeah!

It's going to be time to fill up the MOW yard in Windsor St!

So all that would be required to back date this puppy is the dual headlight grill and some turn signals?  Otherwise, this is a 1971 model, right?

How about a Ford N series, Walter?

The Ford N Class is definitely a possibility as well as the GMC COE of the same era.
