Maybe he thought the "Hydrof?ame" referred to a long-burning wood product for your fireplace?  Then again, hydro?  Um fire and water don't mix, dude.

By the same token hydro (water or other fluids) and frames don't mix either.  :)

Those cars were sold to CP in the early 1970's...

Here's a picture of the CP patch job, Lifelike Canada did an excellent version of this scheme (on the wrong car)
they were a staple of hobby shops around these parts about 10 years ago... (still have mine)

When was that Doug?

Sorry, I was out of town for a few days and didn't take my laptop with me. The letter was in the August, 1969 RPO and the Con-Cor catalog number of the car back then was #1454.

I suspect that the "INTERANTIONAL MTIULFOODS" car was even simpler than rearranged side panels.  It was probably a multi-section stencil, one piece for each panel, and the stencils were applied in the wrong order.  I've done that with decals, and seen it on other cars, including at least one BN hopper

Watch out for those "Solid Clods"

My all time favorite railcar.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

It couldn't have been manifested through the repositioning of doors, since there was only one 'E' and it tended to have the 'F' in Pacific under it.  That would make for Sufferin Pffcfic.

If it is, they did a good job matching up the lines of the doors running through the letters...

Only on the S and through "Pacific", all of which probably weren't moved.
