Hydroflame.....?????

Owned this old Con Cor car for years, never thought much about it. With the paper mil I now thought it might be a cool car to have floating around....

.... and then I looked.... "Hydroflame"...... Um.... ah....

The prototype tells the story.... beside the fact it's a way wrong car...

I must say, I never saw that...... did anyone ever see that????

Now I need to figure out what do do with a car that is a fire hazard at a paper mill>>>>> :scared: :D
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I think the prototype says "Hydroframe". Some kind of water filled suspension?

Maybe though if you cut the model in half it'll grow into two models, and then 4!  With this manufacturing method Rapido could make just one perfect model, give deep discounts on pre orders, and everyone could have the best models in the world for the cost of a Craker Jack toy and everything would be as it should, but people would still complain when they are late. Haha. Ahhhhh sorry.

Ahh ... old Con-Cor stuff. I can assume the boxcar came in Pennsy 5-stripe and SP Daylight schemes, too?

I think that car came in every scheme that was ever applied to a 50 ft boxcar, and a few that weren't, regardless of the prototype.

My god the NSE cars are as bad as the Con-Cor. Love the idea that some doofus over at CC took a look at a fuzzy photo and determined "Hydraflame, it has to be". Oh CC, the Tyco of n scale.

The proto... ACF or Pullman?

Hydro Frame means its got hydraulic cushions, maybe a sliding center sill with a center cushion. Usually they just put HF on the car side..

Hydraflame, it has to be

Must be some Captain America fans over at Con-Cor that thought this would look great on their Avengers Ntrak module...  :D

I really shouldn't joke, I'm the guy who loaded up on stuff to make a Star Wars themed module...

Luckily, I don't have the space to do it!  :D
