Is It a SW8 or SW9

Good Evening,

I just purchased a Life Like SW8 (2003 release) for Chessie with road number #9412.  When I look up that road number, it is listed for a SW9 model.  What are the differences between these two models because I noticed that they both have single stacks.  I think it will look great on my "Mid-Atlantic" themed layout because my layout can be an orphan line like the Staten Island Railroad was during the 70s and 80s when I feel like it.

An EMD SW9 has two exhaust stacks and was rated at 1200 HP while the SW6 (1 built, 600 HP), SW8, 800 HP, and SW900, 900 HP, all had a single stack.  The louvers on the cab are slightly different between the SW6/SW8 and the SW900 but I doubt many even know what to look for let alone would take the time to look that close.

   SW600 had at least 15 complete locos built new.
   built between 2/54 to 1/62.
   some rebuilt Wintons were classed as SW900Ms.
   early SW1200s are very similar to late SW9s.
    why isn't  there an SW1001 in N or HO scale ?

   it should also be noted that early SW7s looked much like
   late NW2s except for the large full front radiator.
  and late SW7s looked rather like SW9s except for some
  louver changes on the hood sides.
  the SW7 was always rated at 1200 HP no matter which phase it was.
  Edit- Jason,what a difference 1 missed word can make !!
          thanks for reminding me.
         not sure when the change from radiator hood top louvers to screens
         was exactly,but that was a bit after SW7 production started.

Like a late NW-2 (ph. v) without the stepped hood.

I'd stab someone I know for an N scale SW-1001.
