Unkel Ed came over yesterday and with some insight from @Lemosteam, we did some things.

Ed and his big knife.

Roughing out the landscape.

Retaining walls not final. Still thinking what I want to do. Should I use more of this style walls or use flat flexible stuff?

That looks even better outside with some stuff on it.

BTW, when it comes to groundcover, bring it over, it's silly to stock up on a bunch of stuff when you only need so little.

I can picture unsanded grout mud, some static grass, and various bits of fall/winter ground foam about.

Cool! Thanks, man! I'll have to pick up some Supertrees, too. I'm open to suggestions from everyone!

:tommann: came over to my house at 7:30 am on Saturday. He was greeted by the sounds of Benny Lava

After consuming 4 shots (approximately 4 ounces) of espresso in a matter of twenty minutes, it was time for me to burn the bagels in the oven.Fifteen minutes after that, he floated upstairs and began to show me the ways of Mann.

We had a rock, too!

Is my rock wall too high at 30 scale feet?

I think the wall is good. Needs to be darkened up a bit though.

The wall is still stock. I need to glue it to some styrene to make it stiff and rigid. The adhesive on the back wasn't doing it so I removed it. Details to come...

Hello John,

Just wanted to give you fair warning before you "plant" any Supertrees on a T-TRAK module...THEY WILL EVENTUALLY GET DAMAGED! I'm speaking from lots of experience with fragile trees and modules...I've seen too many stumps or broken branches left where the original Supertree was planted. No matter how careful you or the other modular layout operators try to be when cleaning tracks, reaching for derailed rolling stock, setting up or tearing down the layout, any fragile Supertrees used on the modules will have their foilage damaged and broken or their trucks and branches WILL be snapped off. While the Supertrees look excellent and are one of the best looking n-scale model trees available for home layouts, they WILL NOT hold up well when used on modules and layouts at public shows. My choice will always be twisted wire tree armatures painted & flocked using the same methods as with Supertrees. The metal armatures used for these types of trees are much more forgiving when human hands brush against it or if "something accidentally" fell onto or against the tree. The trees will bend but not break like the Supertrees and they can be bent back into original position or shape repeatedly. Since it's a small module the quantity of trees needed is relatively small

Damn, not you too!

Thanks for the advice. I think there will only be room for a tree or two anyways. After the move, I'll probably start to roll my own trees.

My mom has struggled with that space on her TTRAK modules too. It's too narrow to do too much with.

Bigly things are happening.

Inspiration:

WIP:

I like it, but I don't love it. In short, my leaves are too large. The static grass will prob need a haircut, too.
I'm moving on and will come back to that later once something better is figured out.
Next, I did some bricks. Using the Keystone Weathering (A Division of Keystone Customs) method, I hit this wall with some creamy beige (ever drink Bailey's from a shoe?) paint. Then I tried to dry brush on some grimy black. I eventually went with a foam brush. I mixed in some browns, too. Let it dry, Dullcoat, then put on some Robert's Brick Mortar.
Here you see the original on top.

Mortar was a little too snowy so I scrapped a lot off with a knife and went back in with a small brush and more black.

The installed wall!
