Those SD40-2s can't keep a hand rail intact can they?

I'm just glad there's not a giant crater in the roof!

That's awfully picky of you.

I should have photographed the front of the other one, I can't remember what it looked like. There were a bunch of people around BLI, so I just grabbed a couple pictures and left.

U30c next.

Not here.
Arnold's doing a U30C?  Duplicating Kato  I hope it's a different U-boat like a U30b or do you mean the U28c is next.

I think Kato is of a very late U30C. Earlier units would look like a late model U28C, in which case they would be covering the entire line. I have to ask Atlas if they are planning on making the previously mentioned U33/36B from HO to N.

On the Intermountain SD40-2. It was delayed so that they could adapt some tooling and improvements. The walkways are now one piece instead of the Kato like version with lift off tread sections on the front and rear platforms. The chassis will be all new with a sound box in the fuel tank. Looks like a nice place to put a tungsten slug. Finally, the engines were absolutely man handled. These are not display items like Atlas, Bachmann or Kato does. Nope, they are out on the table to touch inspect and tear the shells off to see the chassis. The handrails are sampling plastic which is meant to be more forgiving when coming from the machine. I'll give them a pass.

Oh and that's a confirmed NO on the flexcoil trucks. Too fee orders to justify the tooling of a single road specific detail. I know, I know...

Duplicating Kato is not necessarily a bad thing. I think it was over 20 yrs between U30C runs.

Too few orders to tool the right trucks? From a company with an unproven track record? Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy...

Well, my order probably just went down.

I've just read through this and must have missed something, hoping it is ok to ask as it must have already been answered, but - which unproven company did not get enough orders for Flexicoil trucks for which locomotive?
Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

I noticed that pretty quickly as well.
Otherwise, I think these look pretty good, but need better close up pics.

I can wait another month or 2.  Still waiting for my MBK order to arrive with a couple of P70 coaches.  Also, I received an email from Pete on Friday that my Bowser GLa and H21 hoppers are shipping.  I didn't realize how many I ordered.

Need some Pennsy on those U-boats!

+1.  If I have to put up with Conrail SD40-2's with HTC trucks, I will be purchasing and painting Kato units.  They will run like a Swiss watch, and I could modify the HTC truck ala Kapuscinski.  Thanks.
