Best Of Making roof molds in white glue

Hi!

I have since long been doing my roofs (tiled roof and corugated plate roofs) from White glue.
Mold it off a plastic plate. I made a short video of the process:

That's sheer genius. I may only buy one sheet of corrugated Everygreen siding again in my entire lifetime. I can see that technique working for the biggest gap in N scale structures: Butler style corrugated grain bins of various sizes. We have that Rix model, but only that.

I bet this would work to make any texture you want, though only from plastic surfaces. Not sure white glue on top of taskboard or wooden siding would ever come off.

I've been looking for a way to make corrugated material for large tanks. Now I just need to bring home some of the Elmers I have stashed at work.

why not make a rubber mold of the brick pattern (say from a DPM) then use the glue method described by martin t

Or just make a glue plate of a glue plate - positive to negative and back to positive?

Thank you for the kind comments! 
I made a brick mold to "inverse" it from a standard plastic sheet I found in the shop. I made the inverse with Epoxy (special kind which is intended to made moldings) It doesn't stick to anything but it self (more or less).
It works, but the surface of this Epoxy is somewhat more tacky against the white glue, so I need to have 4 layers of glue to get it thick enough to perl off. I've tried to spray the epoxymold with a release film, but the tackyness was all the same..

A word about the corrugated roof in the video... It has a ton of mold defects as small airbubbles.. It's not so easy to say from the video, but it's there. That is because I forgot to wetten the plastic sheet before adding the White glue on that one. Otherwise there will no (or very few) mold defects using this method.

Great video! If you want the edge of the roof to be really thin, can you extend the glue-layer a bit outside the underlying wood sheet, or would that be too fragile or so flexible that the edge would drop over time?

Seems easy and very well worth trying.
