lol, it sure does.  I think I tuned out after 'post 1969'.

I'm wondering what, exactly, would be required to back date the car.  I'm happy to see a two-bay with better underside detail, but I always thought the main spotting feature of the early version was the ends.  What else am I missing?

BTW, my biggest fear with MTL doing these is they will only do a few runs and, poof, they stop.  Like with the PS 4427 high side covered hopper.  I can only hope undecs are a first run and I will grab me a handful for later use, if it's feasible to back date them.

This isn't a car I'm really familiar with, but it does look like the earlier version has the high brake wheel and full ladders.

If The Railwire had a dollar for every time this statement was made, we really *could* start our own model railroad company so that we would quit whining.    :D

You know, one would HOPE that the reason they are doing these is they saw an opportunity for not only 4 decades of hauling stuff on every railroad everywhere, but their repurposed use as buffer cars to go along with the BLMAtlas tank cars or Athearn Ethanols.

Anybody want to put any money down that the latter scheme gets ignored for AT LEAST four years?

Nice to see the airslide, even if we'll only see one scheme per decade.  No body mounts  but other than that they should be an all around improvement over the Bowser/DV car.   My project list just got a little smaller.  Also interested in the 48ft Jindo....the corrugated 53's are creeping outside of my era a bit.   Wish they had some Z on the list though.

Anyway, thanks MTL for a couple of (theoretically) nice adds.  8)

I totally hate this:

'post 1969'.

We have enough manufacturers making modern material. There is so much stuff from the 50s and 60s that still has to be made.

It's funny, I would say we have enough manufacturers making stuff for the 1950s... but I understand your point. The 60s seem to be a bit of a lost decade.

The 60s seem to be a bit of a lost decade.

Actually between the DF and specialized cars and also the welded cars, we've gotten a bunch of cars built new in the 60's within the last 5 years or so.

TWX 52'6" gondola
TWX PD3000
TWX 85' Flat
TWX 4427 hopper

WOT PC&F Box

ESMC X58

EXR 4427 Hopper
EXR PS4000

BLMA Dry-Flo
BLMA 89' flat
BLMA PS4000

Atlas 20,700 tank

MTL 4427 Hopper

I'm sure there's more.

On top of that, we're staring to see more 60's repaints on earlier cars.  I've actually started to curtail buying undecs or cars to strip because more and more of the schemes I want are getting done.

What's really missing in my book is 50's built  8,000-10,000 gallon tank cars with metal walkways and safety cages.  And of coarse a crap ton of riveted flats and gons.  And a hundred other cars.... 8)

Here are some that are still missing.

CB&Q insulated boxcars: none.

General American 2,800 cu ft Pressure-Slide: none.

Does anybody make an General American 2,600 cu ft Airslide?

Funny thing is Athearn can't get into modernish schemes for their Airside. I would buy some Conrail if they made them but all we get is PC.

As for this version: same rule applies: Make a runner pack in Conrail and Hostess Cake!

That 48' X post container should be similar to Walther's. I would hope they do large runner packs in popular schemes with these. EMP was a glaring absence from the Walthers lineup.

With new containers, comes new container equipment. Very curious as to what they have up their sleeve.
