Worked on this PRR FM flat car.
Chopped it down to 40 feet. Sanded down the sides. Built up the end sills.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

adding some details only shows me how much more these scenes will need....

and a view down the line, past the grain elevators, shows an area around the loading dock that is screaming for detail/clutter!

Eh, too predictable.   How about a Woodland Scenics chain gang working on the road with the cruiser parked on the shoulder?   You often see a cop car behind a billboard on a layout, but road under construction is very seldom modeled.

Peteski,
couldn't agree with you more...with all the Blair Line billboards I've been adding to the modules, I'm going to NOT put the patrol car behind any of them, despite the many, many responses to do so...
I DO like your idea of 'road gang/'chain gang' construction crews...I plan to build a section of T-Trak modules depicting my home area of South Louisiana...I grew up in New Orleans and along hwy 90 (Southern Pacific's Sunset Route)...long, low trestles...swing bridges over bayous, cypress trees and knees, country roads lined with huge oaks...
A chain gang with guards on horseback would look RIGHT at home! (NO PC here!)...in fact, even though the modules are set in the late 50's, a work gang is still a common site in South Louisiana.

Bruce,

Nice work. You can put one of the doughnut shops on there and place your police cruisers and motorcycles at the shop.

Work continues on Castlegar yard.

While waiting on etched letters for the Castlegar roof-top station sign so I can finish the station, I started on the freight shed behind the station.  Like all CPR standard plans, this 30' standard freight shed isn't standard.  I have had no luck getting good photos of it and it appears to have been modified between '64 and '74, so quite a bit of guess work is involved.  I also needed to tighten things up for the smaller area available within the wye on the model.  The exterior walls and windows have been added to the subwalls however the model still needs the trim, bumpers, end stairs, porches, lighting, etc.

sorry for the glare off the front plexiglass on this one...but I thought it was an interesting angle

I hope everyone had a great weekend and the snow has let up back east!

Mark, I just picked up my copy of GMR 2016 at the Whistlestop.
Congratulations, a wonderful article on your bridge planning, beautiful work, but also a great explanation of your thought process going into the planning for these impressive structures. You do N scale proud!

This entire PC thing is for the birds!  (I hope that I didn't offend any birds  :D .)

Seriously, Woodland Scenics sells these, so they ok to use.  8)  Allright, I checked and that set is retired, but you can still find it in some hobby stores.  :)

Now if you really want to raise some Puritan eyebrows, you could use some of these Noch N scale figures on the layout.

Peteski--A few of the Noch Ladies of the Night found their way to my layout.  Hanging out at the Motel....

A few more at the Dance Arts establishment.....

Best regards,

Roger
