Nice to see something else being announced from IM, too bad it just has a month of release, and not the year 

The flyer has build dates for each car, most of them were built in 2011 from what I looked at quickly.

Still waiting for the first run of SD40-2 to be released

I might add that the kit price is very attractive for those wishing to paint it themselves anyway. 

Would even be better without the (possibly thowaway) trucks and plastic wheels...

I know they've balked on lots of paint schemes when pre-orders weren't there, but have they ever announced new tooling and not produced?

I'm not sure they have officially, although a lot of tooling was delayed for several years such as the 60ft modern flats.  And in Z, they've pretty well cancelled their announced reefers. (stopping short of "offically" there, but ask them and I think you will find they won't sugar coat that they aren't happening)   They *strongly hinted* to doing their Procor Pressure Flow hoppers in N but that hasn't materialized. But again to be fair no official announcement.

And of course, lest we forget the "upcoming for four years" SD40-2.  OK, maybe not four years but it seems like it.   I think if you announce something more than 2 years prior to it seeing the light of day, you have missed your mark.  "Not produced" goes into effect then.

Ok, time will tell.  I'm hopeful that because it's similar to a model they already produce, and it's not a potentially finicky loco, that 2016 is plausible.  I'll pre-order as soon as Chuck posts them.

(I wonder if the LEZ couplers/pockets will fit, and if it would be possible to make etched end ladders for these....  )

I think the prototype for this car dates to the mid 1990's. The paint schemes listed are ultra modern.

Very nice to see this model, I know it is a priority for several modern folk here, and I remember the discussion about these a few weeks ago.

They're all over the Havelock Sub and are now the mainstay of nepheline syenite service from Unimin. Ironically, some of the Indusmin 4 bay cylindrical cars have had the Indusmin logo painted out and they're now in roofing granule service for IKO out of Havelock.

NATX, GACX, CRDX, TILX, WWUX are most common up there now.

Fortunately for me, way too new.

Highly sought after for the modern modeler, I will pre-order a bunch if that helps

These look to be a match for the NRLX cars painted for Ciment Quebec, for which Highball Graphics has decals - good news for me as I bought a set a while ago then baulked at creating a foob with ACF 2-bays (guess I'm in for a couple of kits)

IM would have had a large market share of Z if they had actually produced when they said they would.The cylindrical covered hopper was so late showing up most of us bought Full Throttle instead.Then they announce another car and nobody believes they will produce so nobody orders and they cancel.

As for N scale Trinity covered hoppers,I ordered 6 undec kits in September of 2014.I got one and that was in September of 2015.
