Lots of painting done this week....

and the cooling coils have been made and installed on the F unit..... almost done....

Time for some serious decalling.....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Perfect video to go with the starting photo  :D

I received a bunch of PFE reefers from @Kisatchie today in the mail.  Threw some trucks/couplers under them and hit them with the airbrush.  Sorry for the poor video quality.  I shot two different videos with my phone and digital camera and neither were very great.

The Briggs mini box has been decalled - I decided to decal it as it would have been in it's last revenue service repaint - used for grain service on lighter branch line in the Prairies. I will lightly weather the car before it goes into service. I have another Briggs kit and will decal that in the older stacked log and heavily weather the car...

Dang..... thought it was derailed.....grrrrrrr......

Here's the reference car I was looking at:

The CPR miniboxes were built starting in 1929; over 7000 were built and some lasted into the early 80's in revenue service. They were similar to the X29 (for the SPF's)

Not much accomplished due to travel and work, but I have been enjoying playing with my new lens and lighting set up.

My sentiment exactly. Absolutely astounding. Calendar art. Wow.

ScottL, trains aren't weathered.  Said in Drill Sergeant tone when recruit nails inspection but he has to complain about something.

This is going to look pretty lame, compared to ScottL's effort, but here you go.

My neighbor, who is a retired art teacher, "volunteered" to paint the backdrop.  I cut strips of 1/4in styrofoam insulation, shaped the top, painted them 2 shades lighter than the sky, and she did the rest.  The styrofoam will be glued to the backdrop, at some point.

Jim,
the painted vegetation looks good but what are those light-colored arches in the background?

They represent the rolling hills of southern Pennsylvania.  In the distance.

I spent all day doing ballast work.  Line is ballasted from Baltimore staging to the end of passing siding at Utz plant.  I also secured the yard ballast that I laid a few weeks ago.  Maybe some pictures tomorrow when everything is dry, but after ScottL photo, I doubt I will be posting any more photos

Oh, OK.  They seem almost white, and very smooth and even.  At least in that photo. That is why I asked.
