Two requests:
- can we see a video f this beauty in motion?
- can I use a picture or two, and the video, to give an update on your behalf the 2018 Railway Modeller's meet in May, or perhaps, and even better yet, you can join us again and display it in a special location in the model room????

Cari and I would absolutely love to come to the 2018 RRMBC May meet.  But like before, let's get a little closer to the date, like after Christmas, before I will know my plans and expense situation for sure.

And I can remember when the HO and O folks said that N would never be anything but a "runner's scale".  I don't remember THEM putting this level of detail on most of their scratchbuilt steam, or even the "redetailed" commercial brass models.

Oh for a time machine - even if it only sent pictures...

I remember them too, sir.  And I've talked to them at train shows, and I've even felt the sting of their words.
That is one of the reasons I'm doing this - to prove that it can be done.  The main reason, however, was to see if
I could do it for myself.

Fantastic modeling Max! Love your tutorial also. Never on my best of days could I equal what I see posted here. Thank you for sharing your work and your masterpiece. So glad you are modeling the SP&S too.

I think the same way.  When it's painted, it all the separate parts and all the work that went into this will not show nearly as well as it does in bare metal.  But I plan to shoot some really good whole-engine shots just before I paint it so there will be a record of it.

Yes, Peteski, I have hundreds... 635 to be exact... and that's just the ones I've posted.  And we're not done yet.
Remember, I still have 23 items on the "work list"!

This brings up a VERY IMPORTANT POINT!

I work on the model at a workbench in the garage.  So when I carry it from the garage back inside to the layout room,
I ALWAYS think about this.

Some important safety rules, and maybe this will be helpful to others.

1. The engine always gets carried in a foam cradle, in BOTH hands.  All lights are turned on and all doors opened between
the workbench and the layout in advance.  So the hands never leave the model while carrying.

2. The engine is always put down at least a foot from edge of the workbench.  No exceptions.

3. When I'm not working on it, I have a plastic display "dome" - one of those things for displaying model cars - over it.
So if anything goes flinging through the air or falls from the ceiling, it will not destroy it.  Maybe a little over-protective,
but anything can happen.  Somebody could walk by.  One of the kids could walk through the garage and bump into to something.  Who knows?

For 3 years, it's kept the model safe.

LOL, you have a ritual for transporting your model!  :D
But on a serious note, it is a very smart idea.  Especially with all the work you did and time you spent on it. It is almost like raising a kid!  ;)
