Hi everyone.  Here is the next episode of the SP&S 0-6-0 #4.
This one is all about details, details, details!  A whole assortment of boiler appliances, piping and rivets go on in this installment.

Some fun facts.

We are now at 3 years and 1 month.
The parts count on this engine is up to 907 (I went through a series of photos and counted)... and that does not count the rivet decals, but it counts everything else.

After this installment, the "work list" is down to 23 items to go.

Jaw is on floor.

The concentric milling of very tiny cylinders is mind-boggling. Much use of #80 drill bits - I break 'em by the mere looking at one. You are a master, sir.

I honestly can't think of words to describe this- the detail, craftsmanship and precision are really beyond anything else I have seen.   Even your photos logging progress are a master tutorial.

Thank you most sincerely folks!
My post had an error in it.  It has been 3 years and 1 month, not 3 months and 1 year, since the start of the project.

Also, I neglected to mention, but you can obviously see, that another big step in this installment is that the tender now has the full complement of rivet decals on it.

What comes to mind are the last words from "Bridge Over The River Kwai"...

"Madness...Madness..."  :o

What does your family think of all this?  :)

Thank you Max, for sharing your incredible skills with us mortals.

beautiful Max...a work of art.

Two requests:
- can we see a video f this beauty in motion?
- can I use a picture or two, and the video, to give an update on your behalf the 2018 Railway Modeller's meet in May, or perhaps, and even better yet, you can join us again and display it in a special location in the model room????

How is this not in the "Best of Railwire"?

Tom, Ed, John... Lets be a little less stingy on those best of badges.

Clearly this is one of the all time greatest builds in N scale history. And that's not hyperbole.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

No kidding!
Speaking of being stingy, Ron Bearden's EP-2 thread also deserves this honor!
