Didn't I see this image in the weekend update header within last couple of years?
Isn't that some narrow gauge RR in Australia?

I don't think it was a header, but it may have been a link in the Proto forum. Here's a YouTube of it in operation:

Well, I was cleaning some flash from my FGE 5237 castings when the car end buckled sending an xacto chisel blade straight through my left index finger. Started looking for the missing end part immediately and found a tiny sliver of bone with all the blood.

Don't feel like going to the ER for what will be a stich or two so I hit the gash with superglue.

Big news that figured where to square off the break in the shell to replace it with a part scavenged from a defective shell. I'm not about to give up on anything that has caused me to spill this much blood.

Daniel, I did something similar a couple months ago and ran a chisel blade vertically through the end of my thumb. Split the nail almost dead center. Didn't come up with bone but certainly felt stupid for that one. I relied on gauze and tape to hold it together as I wanted it to bleed well and flush out any garbage that went in with the blade. Kids in my 4th grade were real interested in how bad it was. Not bad in grand scheme but certainly ugly looking. Hope yours heals up as well as mine did.

I pulled out some GN cabooses to recondition the railings and paint.....

I also went blind adding nose ladders to a CN F unit.... :|

When I first laid my eyes on this photo I thought it was the 1:1 caboose.  Well done!

EDIT:  And what makes it look so real?  For one - the lighting - whatever you used, it has a look of natural daylight. Shadows and all.  Then it is the photo-realistic backdrop.  Next, the conductor peeking out of the cupola also adds to the realism. He doesn't look like a crude N scale figure.   Just enough of him shows to look real. The low-flange metal wheels also add to the realism. Last (but not least) are the thin grab irons, handrails,  and ladders.  They make the caboose look like the real thing, not a tiny train with oversize details.  The white stripes on the handrails also make them look authentic.   Funny how few little details like those make a huge difference in realism of a tiny model.

My thought exactly .. it has been on TRW before  .. not that that is a bad thing.

That's some nice work Pud. I commiserate with you on the F unit nose ladders; CP had the same arrangement - and icicle breakers on the roof.

I painted and lightly weathered the Bridge I built from a kit from Karin at Rogue River.
