nscaleSPF2, what couplers did you use? Can we see a shot of the front with the handrails you added?
 Thanks,
 Joe D

The rear coupler is an MTL #1015.  It required some surgery to the underside of the tender to make it fit.

Here is a shot of the front of the boiler.

The lower handrail stanchion is a Gold Medal Models part.  The boiler had to be drilled for it.  I don't know where I got the front coupler from, maybe someone else can recognize it.

The K4 front coupler is a Unimate model. I forget who's carrying them now.
Do you think Z905's would've worked?

Back in operation today thanks to the good folks at NCE.  There was a moment of panic at first when nothing but headlights worked, but clearing and remaking the consists solved the problem (a solution from the manual).  Still camera challenged, but a picture for posterity.

I am so tragically hip, instead of staying out all night, like the last couple of weeks with the misses
at the penny slots, time to rework Martin Luther King overpass in Ardmore, OK. I picked up the Tamiya
brand masking tape. The real deal and got me some Pele' Soeberg stripes. In the new MR How To, he
dry brushes the paint on to reduce bleed. Works like a peach Jerry.

I am going to rebuild the bridge piers. They looked stupid before. Then weathering with some powders, some
pedestrians and vehicles and in place.

That stripe races,  Chuck.

I went LEGO and picture hanger insert for this pollution thingy. Edge is .060 I beam trimmed to 14 scale feet to give 5 feet of walk space around the needle. Handrails are GMM and the floor is Clover House mesh. Stairs are also GMM. Now do I build [ Guests cannot view attachments ] another to balance the tower or call it a day?

Finished my stamp mill (save for an errant drop of red paint on the top of the loading door frame).  This was an old Campbell kit and was actually a lot of fun to build...it was kind of a window back in time to my father's model railroading era.  The only part I didn't enjoy was attaching the stubby little rafter ends (45 of them), but they do add to the hastily constructed ambience of a Colorado mining structure.

Just shot some samples of the FGE castings. I decided to cast them in color in case there is any issues with paint adhesion.

The master did not fare well:

Luckilly, I have 6 acceptable copies so far and the mold has no tears. I hope to get 20 good copies out of it.

Lou and Bryan: there was an issue with the ladders on the other side. You will probably need to chisel them off and add etched parts. Probably what I should have done in the first place.

Another alternative for the K4 pilot coupler would be a McHenry.  The MT 905 would look better, but  the McHenry will work with no draft gear - just stick the shank in a matching hole in the pilot, and drill through both for a pin.  No automatic centering, but the coupler itself will still work as well as ever.

Stumbled into a model railroad club and then a train show in Myrtle Beach during my visit this weekend.  Picked up a couple of urban scenery bargains and saw some nice layouts!

Not sure if the 905's will work.  There may be an issue with clearance to the pilot truck.  Also you would need to increase the opening in the pilot, for clearance to the coupler.  The Unimate is basically a bolt-in, which is why I chose it.
