The MTL Andrews truck makes a good stand in and has crisp detail.
I'm having a panic attack at how much that will cost to retrofit my 30 or so coal drag with new trucks haha!
What about Kiesel trucks as Kato replacements so we can fix our L1 tender trucks?
How about those things we talked about a little bit ago?
That's a good idea, but I would suggest making faces, not whole trucks. It is very hard to replicatethe smoothness and precision of those Kato all-wheel pickup trucks. Even making a Shapeways truckso that the Kato bronze cup finger inserts would really fit and work as well might be very hard. But truck faces, so you could do what GHQ did with their NP tender trucks and PRR trailing truck. You file off the outside faces as thin and flush as you can, and then glue on new faces. If you file everythingreally thin, and the replacement faces are really thin, it looks good. Walthers Goo takes care of thedifficulty of gluing stuff to the Delrin trucks.
Issues @Ed Kapuscinski , but I have an evil plan!.
@mmagliaro you mean like the ones I did from and for Bachmann K4 replacements? in case of meltdown...
How about 2D-P5 trucks that can take the contact strips from the trucks in the Bachmann P70s. I'll even volunteer one of my two P70s to be sent out for design and testing purposes.
