Drove the ROW another quarter mile with the help of the Gandy Dancers.

We're now squarely into the city limits of Morrow, OH!

@mighalpern also got 16 turnouts wired up to DCC control, and I mapped them and configured the mainline turnouts in JMRI. More in the build thread.

Not quite finished yet. Still need to add handrails and glass. This is a Shapeways FM H10-44 shell on an Atlas VO-1000 mechanism equipped with a LokSound Select Micro decoder with "sugar cube" speaker in cab.

This project has been on the back burner since the F40 came out (hence the no ditchlight version).  I had proto photos of one unit that had retained all the vents along the roofline for a little while, but now I've lost them, so I punted and decided to just go with the version where the vent over the roll up door is filled in.  Hoping to have this done by Trainfest....

Great modelling.  A few years back you had a shell of a FM switcher.  The rear of the cab was crudely rendered, maybe an artifact of the printing. Is this FM that shell?

Skytop35 " Bill- That is spectacular Milwaukee Road modeling.  Just WOW ". +1 . Sir it has not gone unnoticed that it is without all those Shapeways lines of destine . Do you have a trick , was it OEM that way , or did you  sand/scrape your way success .

Thanks all, glad you like the FM so far. It is a Shapeways shell printed in FXD and not going to be a Skytop Models casting. I first ordered this shell in FUD some years ago but was not satisfied with that material. FXD still has the visible "banding" or "print lines" but they can be removed with careful sanding. I used plain old modeling sandpaper on the roof to smooth it out. I glued the sandpaper to various sizes of styrene strips to get around the doors and other details. I worked slowly over several days until I had enough and I was generally satisfied.

I also went old school and used Scalecoat paint. My thinking was it might help cover up the remaining "print lines" and "fuzzy ends" that my sanding missed since it's a thicker layer of paint then the Tru-Color I now normally use.
