Knowing Shane and some of the others involved. They will produce some nice stuff and they know how to deal with the factory reps and more importantly for the rivet-counters, they know how to do research. I don't rteally care if it's "museum quality" as look as it looks good and runs well and is an AS-616.  :D

I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't count on an N-scale announcement this weekend. But then again, outside of the AS616, there isn;t anything else I'm in the big hunt for.

Shane told me that because they don't the n scale samples, the N scale announcements won't be until January at the earliest.

I don't think that's written in stone however.

Is this AS 616 confirmed or rumor?
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

That would really be something but I think a startup company will need something that will be less of a gamble and appeal to modellers of many railroads.
CSX, UP and what others had 6000? I'd buy a UP and maybe a demo.

That it, just CSX and UP and one of the Ausie roads. SP was going to get some but they merge with UP before it happen.
UP's are all basically AC44 since the 80 or so through 6000HP they had, had to have there prime movers replaces with the 7FDL16 motor of the AC44 because of issues with the HDL motor, the other 112 were deliver with the FDL engine since UP needed engines fast and this were design for conversion. CSX had there prime mover replace with the 6500hp GEVO16, but they got de-rated last year to 4500HP on all but the first three, this were the prototypes and they got the FDL engine.  Also whoever does the model of the will need to do different truck because CSX came with GE steerable truck and UP had the regular HI-Ad truck. Oh and the handrails are different to UP has narrow ones and CSX has wide ones.
