Oh, and the Alaskan Whaler is the actual name of that beard style. Not the most popular category in beard competitions but it has a cult following.

I'm not a fan of "participation awards" (in fact, dead set against them) but I have to say that ALL of the entries looked REALLY GOOD.  So I'd probably say 1 Gold, couple of Silvers, and Bronze awards for the rest.   :D
