Matching Micro-Trains CP red paint

Has anyone had any success matching the dark red paint that MT has used on its Heavyweights?  I am considering using this shade of red for my freelanced equipment but need some idea if there is an easy match or not.  TIA

Contact Micro-Trains (phone # 541-535-1755) and ask them if they can tell you. I've always found them to be very helpful, although I've never asked what kind of paint they use.

MT (along with most model manufacturers) use industrial type of paints and their colors are custom mixed.  Most model manufacturers do not divulge their paint sources either. Even if they gave you the mix formula and the name of the manufacturer, you won't be able to buy that paint as a individual consumer.  Unless  the paint manufacturer does sell to individual and you are willing to buy a gallon or five.  But MT (Joe) might be able to give you an idea of what is the closest match in hobby paints.

Scalecoat makes Canadian Pacific Tuscan, if you can find it.  I don't know if the new owners have started production yet.  Whether it matches the MT color I have no idea, but if both companies did their research it should.

There are paint sources out there that can scan the colour and match the paint.
