All,

Anyone pick up a Micro-Trains N 99301330 Trailer Train Wind Turbine Set? I would like your opinion and a picture if possible. Sure would hate to drop $170 and it not look good. Help

Considering that it does not have a complete wind turbine I would not waste my money on it.

I had read a review of it somewhere recently, but I completely forget where.

THought it was on Nscale.net. I remember reading a review as well. It basically said Mark's Shapeway's version was better.

Joe,
Brett Isaacs (remember him?!) did a nice little review and a side-by-side comparison to a popular Shapeways version, on the Facebook page-N Scale Model Trains.

All,

Thanks for the info. Having a senior moment. Any chance on getting a link to one or both reviews. No luck with my google searches.

I guess I'm not understanding what you're saying.

Trains run all the time with only parts of the setup.  Of course there are tons of blade only trains.  I often see what appears to be the rotor pieces mixed in with normal manifest trains, too.

I got one.

So much assembly required and so little time, I have not even taken it out of the box.  I was hoping for a little more snap together assembly from Micro-trains.  You've got to glue a bunch of stuff.

I don't exactly regret the purchase but Mark's shapeways stuff is not going to be more difficult to assemble.  At some point I will probably kitbash a full train together with parts from both sources.

The blade hubs from MT are a nice part.  The nacelle and blades are a little ho hum.
