Disappointment with Bowser Cylindrical Hopper.

So I got a chance to open up some of my recent purchases and got a bit of a surprise.

I ordered one of the new Bowser Cylindrical Hoppers based off this artwork:



But got this:



See anything wrong?

I contact Bowser about it and was hoping to get an answer like the 6 bays is correct they just didn't show it on the artwork.  Instead was told that since the base car wasn't totally prototypical that they just did it on what ever body style (In this case 6 bays even though they make a 3 bay version like the artwork).  I can't believe this type of ***** still goes on.

1.  Artwork + 6 bay = incorrect
2.  Artwork + 3 bay = also incorrect

So is the artwork even real?

Did ya catch the righting on the six bay hoppers that says it has 3 compartments.

They don't look like ACF Center-flow hoppers to me.

They are. Early (63-65) Centerflows look a lot like Canadian grain cars:

Conrail had a ton of these things spread over half a dozen classes. I would love to see some new numbers and schemes for CR instead of these wonky abominations.

According to what I read, a Center Flow covered hopper is one where the bays extend clear across the bottom of the car. There is no center support beam running down the center of the car, dividing the bays.

Yes, the thick side sills provide the structural integrity.   Unlike the typical Thrall/Trinity design that has the center support beam.   Even the newer cars like the 5161's, which a lot of people incorrectly refer to as Center Flows.

Ok, so I understand the 3-bay vs. 6-bay issue, but are we sure the schemes are phony?  I have recollection of the USI Petrothane and Hercules from photo photos.  And Old Dutch cars have been made since Tyco was making bad HO cars.  Wayne Feeds also rings a bell...
