Did ya catch the righting on the six bay hoppers that says it has 3 compartments. :?

Actually it can have three compartments with 2 outlets each.

I guess in the end, I'm really glad I hadn't ordered this car to strip and paint because then I would have been really pissed about the outlets.  I also learned I can't pre-order from Bowser.  :(

I really just got the car for the cool scheme (albeit seen on other types of cars) and I let the Atlas O car make it okay to get one even if it wasn't 100% prototypical.  Worst case there are a couple schemes I could repaint it to but most of the 6 bays aren't private (ends with 'X') which is what I wanted.

Just so it's not all negative, I really like the car and the running board isn't as bad as I thought it would be ( at least not in black).  And the printing is very nice compared to the previous cars.   A few details added, and this car can stand in with newer offerings.

Hey, if Micro-trains can make good profit on fantasy schemes, why shouldn't other companies try to do the same?  ;)

There was some discussion that the Wayne Feed and Domino Sugar cars were at least somewhat legit.  It was a topic on Railwire.

I will get a Waynes Feed car simply because I have wonderful memories of going to the local mill with my Grandfather and bringing home feed for the chickens in 50 lb sacks with that logo. Those bags also became my hay stuffed cushion for my high jump in the back yard, and later tackling dummies my brother and used till we burst the seams.

Except it is an actual scheme, we did it in HO and O.

Paul seems to suggest here that the Petrothene scheme is legit on the 3 bay ...

The Wayne Feeds car and the Petrothene car are both legitimate schemes for the 3 bay version.

I cannot vouch for any of the others.

I feel that the stark coloration makes it look like 1950's Ideal Toy Company and the like . Many variations of schemes by mixing major sections of different colors . eg blue wings with yellow body , yellow wings with blue body . That blue walkway looks awful . All the yellows are the same hue , ( never thought I would be complaining about that in my life ) . Maestro Tom Mann would even have a hard time making some of these look real .

You know that they had to do this... would really hate for them to have a reason to have some appreciation for N-scalers buying their products... it would screw over their bad attitude that they have towards us if something was done right and we really appreciated it!!!

Maybe we can lobby Plano to bring back their etched walkways for this car:

I mentioned this in a thread when these were announced.  I e-mailed Plano and never received a response.

So I got a chance to open up some of my recent purchases and got a bit of a surprise.

I ordered one of the new Bowser Cylindrical Hoppers based off this artwork:

But got this:

See anything wrong?

I contact Bowser about it and was hoping to get an answer like the 6 bays is correct they just didn't show it on the artwork.  Instead was told that since the base car wasn't totally prototypical that they just did it on what ever body style (In this case 6 bays even though they make a 3 bay version like the artwork).  I can't believe this type of ***** still goes on.

edit: hinshawified post (added scale icon)

This is one of the many reasons why @Ed Kapuscinski started our discussion of proper manufacturers photographs.  What's sad is apparently they make 3 bays  with 3 outlets, but just chose to use the wrong car.

More disappointment. I'll try emailing them too - maybe if enough of us email they'll bend an ear.
