Could a proper Gong bell for crossing signals be far behind?

Would you happen to have any more pictures (or links) of this type of crossing bell? I assume they are always mounted with a post coming out of the bottom similar to this picture? (This is a Safetran crossing bell, but I'm not sure if this is the same as the one you linked)

That looks great , don't fret over the thickness so much . There is no competition , I have not done as many MOW projects as I wanted to do just because of lack of wheels . These could be used on overhead crane trolleys as well ash pit ramp carts .

Thanks @up1950s , I'm finalizing the design right now, would you prefer these be mounted as a wheelset on a solid axle at N scale spacing or just rims to be trimmed off of a sprue?

First sample below with just 2mm of sprue:

Just the rims would be fine as shown , and thank you . We could cut and drill the sprue as desired . Those look outstanding Sir .

Thanks for the purchase Richie!

You should let me know if you wanted to purchase such a large quantity next time, I can upload a bulk pack for additional savings so you don't have to pay the initial Shapeways setup cost so many times, it doesn't take me much time to duplicate the file for upload.

Wutter, I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, but I can answer this one. I made one some time ago. You can view it here, for example or in my RR crossing shop section on Shapeways. I have warning lights, gantries and both static and pivoting crossing gates with and without bells, and I can add both older or new crossing bells. There are so many options, if you are interested you can contact me and I can make a custom order.

An example with the conventional bell:

@jmlaboda I actually have the grade crossing bells available already. Perfect for mounting on top of poles, or in interesting configurations like that picture. Set of 10 on a sprue:

Thanks for taking on the FS Commander 372, Alvin! Here's a good photo of a 1:1... you'll notice that the base is a smidge taller than what you have.

Thanks for the picture Mike, I'll see what I can do this week to rescale the height on the FS Commander.
