International Emeryvilles in N scale

It looks like Sylvan will be releasing the International Emeryvilles in N scale - http://www.sylvanscalemodels.com/default.htm and go down to the bottom of the page.  Some 1940s-50s passenger vehicles too.  Unless I am reading the website wrong...

I heard through the grapevine that there was going to be some announcements made at the NTS by Sylvan, but I haven't seen any in the preliminary reports from the show.

I owuld say you are reading that correctly - though it APPEARS they are using the HO photos as stand ins until they can photo the N scale versions.

Yea, I kinda figured that since those images match the HO marketing.  I can only hope the GMC 860, White 9000, Cannonball, and Crackerbox are following.

is the Cracker Box the yellow one that looks like a wide intermodal yard tractor?  If so I'd love a few myself.

The only actually photos of N-scale vehicles are the first one with the '52 Chevy and the '49 Studebaker pickup. The thing that puzzles me is that the first two shown have no price or title (kind of like teasers) followed by pics with descriptions and prices.

From what I've heard Clare is well-aware of shrink technology and knows full well how to make his HO models into N-scale. The reasons given earlier as to why he hasn't done more N had to do with poor sales of existing production models. At least that was my understanding. Maybe he's ready to give it another go. I hope so, the models I have of his are pretty nice.

I have spoken to Clare several times (at the Springfield train show) and he basically told me pretty much what Jimmo mentioned above.  It would be really nice if he did jump back into making more N scale vehicles.  I do know that Daniel L. Has been lobbying for that pretty strongly.

Well if he picked the wrong two things to start with . . . of course sales will be bad.  I can't legitimately use most of his product line in a 1990's to 2000's era layout - the trucks he is listing as new releases are a welcome change to that.  Given what I have put into Showcase Miniatures lately, I can easily divert to Sylvan now that he makes what I need.

And frankly if he'd advertise a little it would help too.

If you can't get product how are you supposed to buy it? Clare's first trip, into N scale resulted in no product available.Maybe this time there will actually be some made.He does nice work.

John, he sells most of his items direct.  Up until Springfield, he had about two dozen unfinished N scale masters sitting on his desk. This included several trucks, cars and I think the ALF700 pumper. The problem was sales of N were poor. Now Clare has some of the best resin kits around: separate rubber tires, full underframe, add on headlight pods and lots of etched details. Even though these are out of my era, I plan on picking up several of the trucks.

God help me if he produces and RTS bus.

Here are the HO scale GMC cracker box tractors, I'd also like to see these models produced in N scale.

Thank you Sylvan Scale Models,  I'm looking forward to the N scale Emeryvilles, first in the line of the great barnyard Cadillac cab overs  :D
I hope they also continue with a N scale Mack H model cab over.

Aside from the cracker box I'd take his whole line of fire trucks in a second.

My LHS has been a sylvan dealer for years and "THEY" could not get his N scale product.I have several of his HO kits to build someday and I would not hesitate for a heartbeat buying his N scale products.

I won't get into Sylvan bashing.  I have a number of his available trucks and I think they're wonderful.  But they're at the fringe of my era and I need variety.  That being said...

And frankly if he'd advertise a little it would help too.

This +.  Word of mouth is great but you gotta get out some more.  Also, the distribution thing got old.  I went through a Denver shop and they didn't have everything I wanted so I had to wait, and wait... and in the end settle on almost what I wanted.  If Sylvan would hook up with Kleins I'd be happy.

Also, and I can't say this enough, variety, variety, variety.  And for me that means everything that would be running in the late 60s, which most of his HO line would fill that bill.  I could skip the rubber tires to improve manufacturer's profit margin, as long as wheel castings are crisp and I can get them easily.  And I could do wth just two-part kits as long as the wheels can be cut off easily to reposition.

I want variety, clean (and prototypical) castings, and paintability.

I'm not bashing Sylvan I'm just saying that the last time he got into N scale my LHS could not get any of his N scale kits.If I get lucky this time I will be getting several of his kits.
