Sirenwerks:  True, the BN had SDP40s, and I'd be as willing to buy them as SDP45s, but they weren't in Pathtimber's and WM-Webb's comments, so I didn't mention them.  Since they were very rare beasts, sold only to the GN and NdeM, I really can't see Kato making them.  It would be easy, though, using the SD45 mechanism.  I think I mentioned way back in the thread that I have a kitbashed one, so it IS an easy project.

I'm thinking the release will be an F9.

Isn't Intermountain doing those?

Egads, I did'nt dare go there!

Although the 21st Century Bachmann version is pretty good, if Kato did one up to the FEF standards I'd have to buy. And the excursion train too.  :scared:

But, Ron Beardon is working on his Little Joes, it would only make sense for Kato to release them after he painstakingly refurbishes the Kumata versions.

No.  I did work on a brass Little Joe for someone.

But my project is the EP-2 Bipolar.

So yes, I do indeed hope no one is going to make the Olympian Hiawatha any time soon.

I've heard the IM doing the F9 rumor for about 10 years now. They have done F9Bs, so just need to tool up the F9A

They could do an E8!

Why?

Because they have never done a CB&Q E8 to pull the California Zephyr AFAIK...

They are doing the FP9A/B.  I have an Algoma Central unit on order to model this

However the FP9A is different than the F9A, the P being about 4ft longer. And no such thing as an FP9B, just an F9B. The extra space needed for the water tanks could be placed in the area where the cab would be on the F9B, so no extra length needed.

Not long ago, I once asked Intermountain whether they'd do an F9, their response was that it isn't currently on their radar.

So we are going to ignore the CS-64 announcement and continue wild speculation?
