There's nothing wrong with that; we have often been asked for a reference and we always try and provide it; unless it's a copyrighted image in a book... that is a fair request of a mfg.

And this is why many of us love to do business with your company.. As to the RS3 - sign me up for one foob scheme or not... How good are the mechanics of these models?

Position of the minuteman notwithstanding, what is the consensus of opinion on the quality of the shell casting, and the mechanism, of this (or other) recent Bachmann diesel offerings?  The last time I did a direct comparison was the Bachmann and Atlas H16-44, and suffice it to say that I have a whole bunch of Atlas H16-44s.  I'm old enough that "Bachmann" and "high quality" aren't often used in the same sentence, but I have heard good things about some of their recent steam engines, and I don't want to write off the new diesels based on bad experiences of 15 or 30 years ago.

And something many of us appreciate.  A lot of manufacturers are much less generous with information.

Except when you require the late-version H16-44 over the early version.  I have both models, because New Haven had both versions of the prototype, and I like both models.  New Haven used the early version for switching duties and used the late version for road power along with GP9s and RS-11s.  I have no complaints.

The shells for these RS3s have been for sale on the Bachmann website for weeks. I purchased the D&H and I think it's pretty nice. Same basic construction as the Atlas unit. Paint is sharp and printing is spot on. The D&H blue looks good. The gray is lighter than the Atlas or Kato gray, but that doesn't make it wrong. The hand rails are painted yellow at the ends of the loco, but they should be yellow the entire length of the loco with gray stanchions. The coupler is huge, but it comes out with the removal of a screw. MTL 1015s slide right in, but require some shims.

I didn't know which chassis the shell would fit and soon discovered that the Atlas RS1 chassis works albeit the shorter truck spacing.

What Bachmann, no corner number boards or marker lights?  Sheesh.

Don't know what to tell you.  They released BM 1545 the first time around.  It seems they picked a number that was out of the Phase-I sequence this time around.  I suspect that Boston & Maine modelers will not quibble over the engine number, and those in the know will simply change it.  The Atlas version featured the cab herald scheme with correct road numbers, so there is opportunity for B&M modelers to run both schemes simultaneously.
