I did think about doing something like that, better marbling, but for my tastes, it would have been over the top. It would look awesome, but I was going for something more subtle and realistic. I didn't want this to be a flat out novelty car. At quick glance, you would see this car at the end of another train and say, oh, it's a business car...with a Baconrail decal? Cool and OMG it's painted like a bacon strip, instead of OMG LOOK BACON. I like to draw them in with a story.
Hmmmmm.Let's take this one better. This has some serious potential...... http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/bacon/-bacon-fragrance-oil.html
pjm20: Have to smell better than the Soviet idea of burning dried fish in Siberia. Engines ran fine on them, and they were easy to hand fire, but couldn't have smelled very good.
I can see it now, a K4 with bacon smoke oil rolling down the tracks...
Like a radio commercial I hear daily, " If it's not bacon you can eat, you don't want it. "
Why am I not surprised that Russians would try this?[Russian] With all this extra fish that we have, let's not give it to our starving citizens, but burn it as fuel! [\Russian]
Actually, in much of Siberia, dried fish was so common that the locals used it for fuel, so they weren't taking anyone's dinner. They used coal, oil, or wood in other areas, whatever was cheapest and easiest to get.
For all the talk about BCR cars on this thread, I haven't seen many pix of them.... what, they're so good you guys eat them before you have a chance to photo them?
