Ooh, have you thought about doing Flexicoils to replace the HTCs on Kato SD40-2s and Atlas SD50s? Those are musts for CR modelers. I've modified mine by hand, but I'd probably upgrade to more accurate trucks if they were available.

Sure, I know the axle spacing would still be off, but close is better than nothing.

Working on them now.

This is the moment you've all been waiting for!

Quote
This is a representation of the flexicoil truck in N scale, although the wheel spacing and diameter are off it will pass off as a flexicoil on a kato SD40-2. Includes 2 truck sideframes (1 pair). N Scale (1:160). Requires bestine soak before use.

Is it the same truck as the SD60?

So I guess I'm not going to get the C&NW tall short hood I posted way back when?  Sniff...

Atlas SD50, 60 and 60M share the same truck...

So same thing you did with the Kato SD40-2 truck.. using the Atlas SD50, 60, 60M side frame.

Good Job!

I'm kind of surprised by the price given the size..

You would also need a new long hood.

It's still a possibility, but right now there are other things on my list. Those are:

  • C415
  • C636
  • SW1001
  • MP15AC/T (A more accurate version than the skytop models using a new mechanism)
  • C425

I'll work on that this weekend. Regarding the price, I bumped it down a dollar or two. In order to be able to offer all of these niche products and still turn a profit, my profit has to be higher then other shops to allow me to fund R&D and cover other costs. Sorry, beyond the last price drop there is nothing I can do.

True that. I also don't have any alco RS/RSD units at this time. It will have to wait until the above list gets cleared because I would consider that a new locomotive. That probably means a few years (Sorry).

Do explain.  All my books are in storage so I can't research this.

I think it's because there are some boxes on the short hood, etc.

Also needed are some of the various truck frames GE put under Uboat and Dash 7 six axle locos. Will try to dig up examples.

Sounds interesting.

Hmmm, how many trucks do I get for $25.99? :scared:

Just bumped the price to $21.99 on both types. I hate to make it that high, so I created a bulk pack. I'm waiting on the upload now. Each pack has 10 trucks, for 5 locomotives total. Should bump the price down around $20.00 total as opposed to buying singles.
