So here is what I did:  I just simplified it and left off a rail.  So it's not like the movie, but it doesn't look so front heavy and therefore more plausible:

I really like the Trainworx tooling on the tires and hubs:

That looks good  :tommann: !  I love the weathering.

I agree that everything about these trucks is really well done. The whole concept is really clever (even the frame is modular).  All the parts assemble just liek Legos, but look very realistic. These trucks to me are of "Kato Quality" or even, dare I say, better!   :D

They remind me of the HO scale Herpa Trucks from the 90's one of the big things I missed from HO.
Very happy we have these trucks now and dare I say they're way better then the Kato truck ;)

Oh and Tom... I'm speechless! Muy Bueno....

I should have been clearer. Those (made in China) Kato Volvo trucks are fairly disappointing (especially the initial run). I was talking about the quality, and clever and precise engineering of the majority of other (made in Japan) Kato products.

Am I the only one impressed with the legibility of the license plates? :D :ashat:

In the old days trucks needed one for every state they operated in.

...or each plate represents a victim. Not unlike this:
Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

So I'm trying to figure out what the tan/white streaks are on the tank. They are around the fuel hatches, but obviously not from over-flowing fuel.

Any truck guys out there?  @rswinnerton ?

On another note, this truck is a different color in every scene :scared: :tommann:

Could it be something to absorb spills, like that speedi-dri product used for spills at racetracks?  Or maybe it's just the dust from that desert environment sticking to wet fuel before it evaporates?

Or maybe, it's just a :tommann: type in the studio prop department making it look good for it's closeup?
