Here is a short action video of the Baldwin transfer unit I built from the James Norris Shapeways 3D printed shell and truck frames:

My other project this week is the FM flat car and DD1 containers (from Shapeways).  I started with a Red Caboose 42' flat car - did some surgery to remove 2' from the center of the car to bring it to the proper 40' length of the FM.  Also removed the stake pockets and added the container brackets.

I installed the first of seven tracks on the new two-level staging yards on my layout.  The Aberdeen & Rockfish RR is up top and will be three tracks; the Seaboard System is down below and will be four tracks:

Here is the big HOn30 layout

12x54 inches. The back folds up so 5 minutes from now I can put it up on a shelf.

Lookin' good, Doug!!
Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

While travelling this week I added the remaining details  to the beehive slash burner I started years ago...Yes, I recall those top leaves being very hard to shape properly but I have to think I would do a better job now then I did oh those many years ago.

I need to complete the conveyor, paint and install it.

I also shipped a concrete form insert to be set into the entrance of our new cottage in Wasaga Beach in Ontario.  My wife's grandfather bought the original property in the 30's and named it "Brancepeth" which I understand is Welsh for "path of the wild boar"...the form is about 2 1/2' long.  I hope they are able to get all the wood out after it is poured!  I had to reassemble my little bandsaw to cut the form out and boy did it cutting through this 1 1/2" thick plywood stack.

Have a great weekend!
