Willmodel's Millie's Cafe in Z-scale?
« on: June 10, 2015, 09:27:24 PM »

In another thread, Tom Mann mentioned that Z-scalers would probably like to see my Millie's Cafe in Z-scale. Since there was no response from any Z-scalers I figured that it must be because the comment was buried in a thread about a product that is not available in Z--thus no one in Z would have any reason to read it.

So is there any interest in a Z-scale model of our Millie's Cafe in Z?

I would be a Shapeways printed model with very little or no assembly required.

It's faded red, not pink. I'm not selling it as a finished structure. The N-scale model(shown) comes with a couple other business signs so it doesn't have to be Millie's.

Is that a photo of an H0 building as a stand-in for N scale one?

Funny Pete. What am I Downtown Deco?

Believe it or not that structure is actually assembled from the very first set of castings I made for this kit (which was my very first structure kit). I don't show anything but what it is or can be. My HO-scale Buddy's Waffle shop facecard is a picture of the HO kit--not a pilot model. My N-scale Buddy's is also the very first casting (back when it was a one-piece casting). They were all shot in my back yard on sunny SoCal days with my good ol' Canon PowerShot SD400 Digital Elph. Nothing beats natural sunlight for shooting model buildings. That same Digital Elph shot every one of my vehicle product shots both raw and finished model shots.

Um, I forgot to end my post with a   ;)

The level of detail looks great for N scale building. That's what I was implying.

Wow that looks really good  :o 8) I agree real sunlight is best for the most convincing photos, Ken Patterson always uses sunlight.

Jim, if you finally get off the fence  :D and make this place in Z make it a kit so we can modify it easier. (if we want to that is)

It wouldn't be a finished structure, Johnathan. All of my kits are ready to do with as you please. I'm talking about no assembly--mainly referring to the walls. The windows and doors will probably be separate. To keep the cost down, it will most likely be printed in White Strong & Flexible as a stucco building, with the doors and windows in FUD or FXD.
