New Kit, concrete arch bridge by Rogue River Models now available

Rogue River Models (Medford/Grants Pass, Oregon) ......Myrtle Creek bridge mentioned in info.  So I'll assume it's modeled after the vehicle bridge linking the town of Myrtle Creek, Oregon with Interstate 5 ?

You both are correct. I live in the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon and about a mile and a half from the Rogue River. When driving north on I-5 we pass this bridge and will sometimes take the exit for the drive into the quaint town of Myrtle Creek. The bridge actually spans the Umpqua River and that is a former SP line running under the bridge and along the river. I knew that one day I'd just have to model that bridge.

I received my N scale version from Karin.  It was packaged beautifully.  I primed the pieces and started assembling it.  It is an easy and quick kit to put together.  The arch spacing is a little tight for spanning a double track area.  I may shorten the siding so it is single tracked underneath the arch.  I had to fabricate styrene footings to raise the bridge up in order to allow for vertical clearance for the double track.

I am very happy with the results so far.  I'll try to post a photo later this week of the work in progress.

I'm not a fan of Taskboard (if that is the same stuff used extensively by N Scale Architect), but the bridge design is awesome!

Wanted to bring this topic back up. Ever since your post about not being fond of Taskboard (nothing wrong with what you said, your opinion is fine) my sales dropped in the N scale bridge. Z has been going gang busters. I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm just wondering if it turned off any TRW prospective buyers because it is made up of Taskboard (and some laserboard). So, a friend took my kits and demo bridges to NTS and displayed in his vendor booth. People were amazed with the bridges and the kits sold out right away. Now I'm busy cutting taskboard with new orders post NTS   Just wanted to bring this up once again to let you guys know that taskboard, put together and painted is very sturdy, very detailed, and from what I'm hearing is very enjoyable to build.

Thank you whoever bought those bridges, would love to see photos.

Hi Tom,

I am a modeler, have plans for a 3 or 4 module layout of the mainline from Sutton to Palmer, Alaska. I certainly have the ARR rolling stock waiting for me to get to it. But getting a laser caused my attention span to whirl around that machine more than my own layout. It allows me to be creative in a whole different way. Plus it's fun to make other modelers dreams happen. I apologize if I've been posting in the wrong topic.

Wow Karin, do you really think that my opinion carries this much weight in the N scale community?  This is the only model-RR forum I frequent (and as  noted, very frequently  ). What can I say? I'm not on Facebook or twitter (so it is not like I spread my possibly detrimental opinions through several other channels).  I don't think anybody in the past has tied the opinion I voiced anywhere in the Interned to a drop in sales of a certain product.

In my modeling I prefer styrene, acrylic or even micro-plywood.  Even laser-board is ok too. But it is my personal preference - I'm not forcing anybody to act or think like I do (actually that would be scary).  But if you want to attribute the drop in sales to me, there is nothing I can really do about it.  I'm not going to change my opinion about the task board, but I can honestly say that I'm a big fan of most of your kit designs and of your modeling in general.
