Hey Joe, I saw these prototype photos recently and wanted to pass them along.  I see a lot of potentially neat artwork that could be created for these cars, allowing for some unique prototypes but also some decent foobies.

Intermountain is coming out with a single dome 8000gal tank car for Gibson Wine. I would love to see a 6 dome car!

I woudn't be surprised to see these schemes applied to their three-dome car. (or an entire set of them)   Heck, they may have already for all I know.

 :)
notice the Foundry Data on the truck of NATX 6604:
7-40,date the Truck was Cast, likely replaced Archbar trucks.
GOULD TF-4178,must be the Pattern/Buck used by Gould.
cast Star with a "G" in it,Gould Rochester NY Foundry ?
AC&F,the car builder and truck buyer,or replacer?
most trucks have similar lettering and dates cast on them.
reading this Data can be an interesting sub-hobby in itself.

Thanks for the info.  Very cool car.  I did a bunch of research on these last year, and there were some very cool schemes.

Gibson Wine Company Covington Kentucky. Yeah I could most definitely go for one of those. They were right at KC Junction of the C&O and L&N.

This shot of the Espee @ Fresno hints at the varieties (bad pun) of tank cars used in wine service:

And a couple more scheme to add to the 6-pack car previously pictured:

BTW, even though there are three-dome wine cars (and one and four domes too) the MTL three-dome would be a poor choice since most of these cars are insulated and the MTL model is not.

Also, IMRC is releasing a single dome Gibson car.  Though it is an uninsulated model and the prototype is insulated, the scheme is pretty and interesting.

I saw a pic once of a wine car in NYC. I had thought these stayed in Cali or something like that. Must of went everywhere.
