As I am not an SP modeler:

Can you please tell me if any of these flatcars could be seen on the Northern Pacific between 1965 and 1970?

Info at WOT indicated the prototype for this car was built in 1964 for both SP and AAR, so it seems pretty likely that one would venture onto NP during the time period you mentioned on occasion. Can't say for sure though.

Heavy use on the NWP branch as well through the 90s.  Can't wait for these to hit shelves.

At least one still stranded up Eureka way last time I was there.

From the fact that MBK has already listed most of these as out of stock and gotten more, I think Wheels of Time has a winner on their hands.

Get em while they're hot.

Glad I pre-ordered mine from Chuck.

Looking forward to the regular flats.

I will say I haven't run mine yet.  Has anyone run theirs?  The couplers seem a little constrained on their swing, but I don't know if it will be a problem on the layout.

They would almost certainly have been on the NP, by way of the SP&S to Pasco from Portland or Bend, or direct to Tacoma from Portland up the west side.  I saw plenty of SP equipment in Pasco in the late 60s.

I think I spy an SP bulkhead flat in Denver, c. 1967.

The bulkhead version looks good.  But I'm waiting for the standard flatcar version as well.

Mainly I posted that to call attention to a very cool photo.  Bill has been posting a lot of fantastic images of Colorado in the 60's.  Here's another gem, unrelated to this thread...
