I hate to steal his thunder but Jimmo's cranking out some 60s/70s N scale vehicle goodness at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/willmodels. LOVE the Winnebago!

But how do I make the green smoke to go with it?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

When did that Winnebago D-22 come out? 1969? (Will should put that info in the listing!)

Gotta have! 8)

I intend on making a set of decals for it once I'm through the beta stage.

I believe that this model D-22 is a seventies model. I don't have as much data on these as I would like--just what I could scrounge up online.

I'm thinking about going back to the '60s model as well and possibly doing Chieftan. There are so many RVs out there begging to be modeled, I just had to start with this one.

I plan to sell my larger camper in the eBay store with my cutaway '68 Dodge van cab and possibly the GMC Savana. I'm also going to offer the combination of the slide-in camper with my '68 Ford F100.

I also have a camper conversion for a full size pickup where the bed is removed. Since I have a few of those cab/chassis already, I figured I might as well put them to good use.

Your input is much appreciated, forum.

Googling "winnebago D22 1969" found quite a few sites, so it should be good at least that far back.  Unless they made major changes and kept the model number...

I'l let you know.

I'm waiting for one of my campers being printed in FXD. My previous FUD prints turned out pretty smooth, especially after a couple of coats of Tamiya surface primer.

One of the problems I encountered with going digital is although the modeling is easier and quicker, it's also not cheap. Most of these models require a few iterations to get them right. I have several models I need prints of but I have to wait until I get more sales in order to afford them.

I just bought a couple HO vehicle models from Shapeways. And I am NOT impressed by the surface finish. I didn't expect glass smooth, but these look - and feel - like course grit sandpaper... at best.

What material was it printed in?

There are tons of HOn30 stuff at Shapeways, but it is "white strong and flexible" nylon. That is the worst material I've seen yet. And you can't sand it smooth either.

I asked the guy to make some passenger trucks available in fud. He replied that they would break, but did it for me. The trucks were nice and never broke.

I only use white strong & flexible for my structures requiring a stucco finish, and even that is a little coarse for N-scale. I bought an HO model of my old Cavalier from MadAboutCars in WS&F. It took almost an entire can of Tamiya surface primer and a lot of sanding to get it smooth. I was however, able to shrink it into a nice, shiny N-scale model.

I have several railroad models printed in FUD and the trucks have been sturdy enough to work just fine.

Just checked. They're the white nylon, from MadAboutCars. They're opaque, and very rough. They almost look to be SLS (as apposed to SLA) models. Very grainy.

Isn't nylon hard for paint to grip . Better for linkage bell cranks and quadrants .
