I just wanted to take the time to thank all who attended the 7th Ohio N-scale Weekend this past Saturday/Sunday.  It was great to see you all and to provide a place for N scalers to gather and run N.  Only N.  The dates for the 8th Ohio N-scale Weekend are May 13/14/15, 2016, same place, Franklin County Fairgrounds, see you then.  later, Craig

I had a great time.  It was really nice to have all the vendors with stuff I don't normally see. Only missed having Pete Nolan there with his ships.

Truly sorry I missed it. Kay and I have been back and forth to Alabama many times in the past six months, and Kay has been there alone for the past few weeks. I am just "traveled out" for a while, as I do all the driving. I am introducing all the ships I developed over the winter, after I test them for production. Not everything turns out--the Hulett Unloader in Z, for example, requires a total re-engineering. Missed all my friends up there!

:( Myself and a fellow N Scaler attended but were very disappointed. To many layouts and not enough venders. Would have been nice to have more vendors there. The layouts could be rotated every year instead of trying to fit everyone in this once a year event. It seemed like venders were squeezed out for space to allow for more layouts and some of those very few vendors that were there were squeezed in very confined space. Sorry, for the distance, time and gas spent we felt this weekend was wasted.
We hope that you all can regroupe and do better next year. We will still look forward to next year, here's keeping fingers crossed.

Was it different this year from years before?

:(Yes things were different this year from other years. Like I said lack of vendor space due to the number of layouts. One local club took up a very large rectangular area with a lot of wasted open area in the middle of it. Most vendors seemed squeezed for space.

Central Ohio N-trak the host club has heard this complaint a couple of times for this year's show.  There was 1 vendor who was a no show, 2 tables.  Other than that, we had 13 vendors with 47 tables, about the same number as in other years.  Yes, some layouts did grow in size and we did have one issue with where a layout ended up being placed restricting the space between a vendor the and a layout, the building layout design was not followed which allowed this to happen.  This is a gathering of N scale model railroaders, if the clubs could not bring their layouts, they would not attend.  It is not possible to satisfy everyone, we try to accommodate the majority.  We work hard to balance the vendors and the layouts, it is a balance and one that we work hard to achieve.  Our end of show survey shows that the clubs were satisfied with the show and 11 out of 13 vendors were also satisfied, one of the 2 not satisfied is always not satisfied, but, returns year after year.  Go figure.  We know that space is tight, but, there is no additional space available in the Columbus area at a reasonable cost.  We try hard to make this an enjoyable show for both vendors, participants and visitors, in 99% of the cases we succeeded.  Again, thanks for attending. later, Craig

First let me say Craig and the rest of the Central Ohio N-trak group did another fantastic job. This was our second year of being able to attend this show.  We have been regulars at Bedford NScale Weekend for nearly 10 years.  And we were able to make it in April to the Atlantic City NScale Gathering.   I think damrr is not quite understanding the concept behind these events. The are not intended to be train shows like Greenberg's and all the other commercial train shows
were the emphasis is on vendors and layouts help draw in the customers.

The primary focus of these events are NScalers coming together and having a GREAT time.  If your not participating and attending all the events your missing out on the real purpose and all the fun of these events. I've meet some of the greatest people via these social gatherings.  NScale specific vendors are an added bonus. The reality of it is that these focused vendors although smaller in numbers offer more NScale items than you normally see at most of the commercial train shows.

Craig and the rest of your great group, you may decide to tweak it a little but its pretty great just they way it is.

Thanks again for another great event.
