I don't know if this was a TRW member, but someone got lucky at Wig-Wag and snagged a spare A-C car.  Someone else was less fortunate, which prompted WW to call to see if there were any additional cars in stock.

I am one of those two! I did place an order when their website indicated "available" but I don't think that they do real-time inventory updates. My guess is that I am the less fortunate, but that I haven't been able to confirm or deny as their phone has been busy for hours. I do have a line on one from a very generous Railwire member if my Wig-Wag purchase doesn't go through.

Allis-Chalmers.....the new Conrail on TRW!

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I don't know how large your initial run was but it looks to me like you had a winner on your hands.

We will see, with release #2 later this year!  D&H is under ten now so it will be gone well before the end of the month.

You might get lucky.  I was told that two additional orders came in before they had a chance to change the item status on the website.  I'm sure they will advise if you were the second buyer.  So cross your fingers and hope your next WW email received is a confirmation and not an apology. ;)

Just got the "First Runner Up" email, so no dice. I am still in the running for Miss Congeniality!   ;)
I appreciate all the help.

I'm partial to the D&H car myself.  Also love the LV car, but it pretty much stayed in the Bethlehem PA area.

Bryan,

Just got my two cars and they look great!

I was curious though.  Did you use the wider tread/deeper flanged wheels because the cars are so light?

I put some of the fine scale wheels in one and it really looks awesome.  Haven't run it yet though.

Marc,

The wide-treads were used so that the cars run on any brand track.  The car does look better with fine scale wheels and operates equally well.  In fact, all of the load testing was done with fine scale wheels.  The cars are light (0.4 oz), but the center of gravity is so low and well below the coupler centerline that they have no problem pushing or pulling 1½ lb of freight consist.

Cool, thanks Bryan.  I will be changing all the wheel sets out to the fine scale ones then.

Bryan,

I have a D&H one on order from BLW. In the one prototype photo I found on the Internet it looks like the cars has 28" wheels. Was that possible? I didn't see it in any of the discussions.

The model has 28" wheels, as did the prototype.

MBK has seven (7) New York Central cars just posted this evening.  They will go quickly.  Anyone still seeking one should grab it from here.
