Guilty as charged. Check out that PRR five-hole main block hook. After I scratch-created it from styrene, someone produced it as a laser cut item.I actually also had other models there: the Shermans Creek bridge diarama, the PRR D70 diner, the G22 with containers, and the Baldwin Transfer unit.
I noticed! Your other stuff was the breadcrumb trail that lead me to you with this derrick. I also have that acrylic 5 hole hook installed on mine. I modded the cab, too. Did you relocate the smoke stack, by chance? Is that a Red Caboose FM?
Just posted the Banquet thank you reel. NSE George
Hi Josh:Did not relocate the stack. That is a Red Caboose flat that I found in a MOW set several years ago, in of all places but Sacramento. By the way, I heard that Fox Valley acquired Red Caboose. Maybe there will be more flat cars and X-29s in the future.
The three trailers have been released and are available from N-Scale Kits. http://www.nscalekits.co.uk/autotrailers.html The auto carrier for the Flexi-van was announced and available at the convention in Roanoke in 2014. This model has also been nominated for this year's N Scale Vehicle Kit of the Year Award.
We also announced at the Manufactures' Breakfast that we are researching a fourth autotrailer that we hope to have at Kansas City too. More details will follow in the Fall. Other announcements will be posted.
I didn't move my stack either. Your FM looks great! I picked up an honest to goodness Red Caboose MOW set that came with 4 cars: two sets of an X29 and the FM, with one of each set in gray and yellow.. How did you make the sides on that flat? Just strip styrene? I really need to make an idler for my W120.
Hi Josh:That's the same MOW set that I have. After missing out on that set for more than $45 on Ebay, I found it at Bruce's in Sacramento where it had sat in their case for several years - on sale for $24. I used the grey flat car and X29 with my wrecker train. The sides on the flat are just made from styrene. Another choice you have now for the idler car is the TrainCat GRa, or the Shapeways GR. I think you already have Mount Vernon's MOW decal set.BTW - the Red Caboose flat is 2' longer than an FM - I just cut down that car to the proper 40' length for the DD1 container FM. It was not hard to do.
