2015 N scale Convention, Sacramento June 24-28

I just took the plunge and made hotel reservations at the Double Tree, the convention hotel; it looks like a great program and lots of other railroady things to do. I plan to spend one day doing research at the CSRR Museum library, and to visit at least two awesome N scale layouts in the area. Anyone from here planning to go?

I'm taking Matt Gaudynski's California Zephyr car charter out with at least a few other Modutrakers. Also doing the Lowell Smith Feather River Canyon trip on Father's day.

Silicon Valley Free-moN will have a (greatly abridged) layout there.
We're talking rotating / swapping modules in & out each day so more people can participate and we can offer the ever-morphing layout.
But at least there'll be some fine Free-moN work among the Ntrakkers  8)

I am going too - with the N Scale Kits booth and Room sale. There will be some new kits available for the first time in N Scale, launched at the NSE Sacramento Convention.

See you there.

No Sacto for us this year, although we have been regularly traveling to the area for a while. Timing's not right for us to attend the convention. However...

KC is next year? Hmm... that we can do; it's reasonable driving distance. Haven't been to a convention since Louisville, so we're way overdue. I have a hunch that our (STL) N-Trak club pres will be lobbying hard to have our layout there. I'm OK with that.

I will be at the NSE show too, I'm really looking forward to it. It's a kind of full circle for me. I got started in N scale by a friend in Denver, CO and we DROVE the 1000+ miles to one of the first N scale conventions...in Sacramento. I think that was 21 years ago. Now I live here and the show is back. I just found a photo I took on that trip in 1994(?) of the SP Cab Forward at the CA RR Museum and a photo of the Intermountain version on my sons' layout. I look forward to meeting TRW members at the show. Stop by the FreeMo-N layout and say Hi.

I'll be there and so will our N Trak modules (also in a greatly abbreviated form). They didn't allocate much room for layouts so space must be limited or expensive. Looking forward to meeting some of the other members that are here, there.

I will be there and this is my first one.

If anyone (male) needs a room mate, I have reserved a room with 2 queens.  The guy I thought might go with me is unable to go.  Please contact me with a PM if interested.

Yea, me too, should be fun to meet other Railwire friends. That's why I started the thread.
Perhaps we should come up with a Railwire sticker to put on our badges so we can recognize each other?
That and a secret handshake?
Years ago, there was a group of us N scalers attending an unnamed historical society's meets, with our name badges proudly displaying a common middle initial: N. It worked... and the other guys never picked up on it until told.
Looking forward to June.

I'd love to be able to attend unfortunately the cost to fly across the pond is out of the question right at this moment. I've been able to attend a few (my first was in 1994 in Portland), met a few great guys and had a ball.
Have fun.

Hmm... I vote for a
watermelon sticker...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
