Trainworx is almost starting a new hobby: collecting 1:160 trucks!

No foolin'.  I already seem to have more trailers and containers for the flats and well cars I have.  Might was well get started on matching those numbers with
over the road tractors and trailers for the scenery I've yet to build.  Shapeways has caught my eye in a monetarily negative way too.  I need some good lottery numbers sure.

Great things so far for N scale. Anyone have anything on Micro-Trains July releases? I got a call  from a friend about them releasing their baggage car lettered for CN in green/yellow livery. Anyone seen anything on this?

Thanks, Jon

Yes, MT had their new baggage/mail in CN colors and it was quite stunning.  Sorry, I did not take a pic, but it will be at your LHS in the next few weeks.  MT will be doing their whole heavyweight series in CN.  The series started last month with the CN express boxcar.

Also at the show were the Intermountain F9s in CN - beautiful!

If that's for me Otto, thank you, but I need the C&NW unit to see how they painted the cab.

Next year is Kansas City, was announced last year.
Ohh.. didn't realize that.. I thought they announced the next location at the end of the current one.

Kansas City is pretty close to home.. going to have to try to attend that one!..

Well, one of the things I learned about BLI at the convention is that while there appears to be a genuine interest in producing N scale steam, their proprietary decoder size is limiting their choices. That's why the new Pennsy 4-8-2 comes with the "long distance" tender, a tender large enough to accommodate their current decoder technology. Hence no K-4  :D and other locomotives, like the ATSF 3800 or 3751 class locos made by BLI in HO, that have more normal sized tenders.
Their next generation decoder, Paragon 4(?) I believe, is designed to communicate wirelessly with an under-the-layout bass speaker, shown in their current catalogue I also believe. Unfortunately, this new feature will make miniaturization even more challenging, so I'm not holding my breath. I do enjoy sound, but I'd rather install aftermarket sound in a loco I want than have the loco not made at all because a small enough proprietary decoder is not available....
But technology marches on, so who knows....
Regards, Otto K.

They recently started announcing the next show two shows, guess it gives people more time to plan.

Sdodge:  Seconded on the log trucks.  Personally I'd prefer a Kenworth, but both were very common in the Northwest, and I'll take it!

$50 +/- for a movie tractor/trailer was more than I could justify, but I NEED the log trucks.

The paint isn't awful but could be much better on the shade of yellow and there are a few things are painted the wrong color along with some lettering size issues.

It's actually the shell details that are the bigger issue but I'm sure it's just me and I'm not looking to get banned again so  :-X.

All of the conventional trucks will eventually be available as logging trucks.  However, Pat said it would take a few years to release everything.
