For anyone else looking forward to the Atlas S2, they were shipped to Distributers on 4/9/2015. Should be available very soon.

If you are an Atlas employee please identify yourself as such. That way we can know whether this info is accurate or just some rumor.

Or you could just go here and look for yourself. :P

Says partial shipment, I wonder if the sound units are the ones delayed.

A mixed bag.  For example, I have three of the EL sound units on reservation.  One is in, two are delayed until next month.

Or you could have looked earlier in the thread, where I said they arrived, they would start shipping shortly, and it was only a partial shipment.

I stand by my comment - people that post such info should identify themselves as company employees if they are.

If they are not employees they should let people know that and should give the source of the info/rumor they are passing along.

And to clarify I did see the info on the Atlas web page. And that has nothing to do with my comment.

So if the only physical difference between the S2 and S4 is the trucks, will Atlas be performing that swap for us and releasing S4s?  (Yes, I know of the Bachmann model).  Or should I just buy S2 and swap them out myself?

Forget the trucks, Atlas should skip straight to the S1.  :)

I think the S4 had a slight difference in the cab too, still is less variation than the MP15 line up and covers two models.

I REALLY want Atlas to do a Grafton and Upton to compare to move.

There was a sealed window, welded version of the cab that was found on a lot of S4 and also some S2's.  Not sure off hand about the S1/3.

The CGW had (were converted) two S2s with sealed windows and one (#8 so do that one Atlas) with the angled widows.

Um, but some versions of the S4 were just (visually) S2s with different trucks, no?  I've found nothing online about a physical difference in the two Alco models.

Central Hobbies is telling me that the three S2s I ordered have now slipped until October!!!  Perhaps this is sound equipped units only?

What is the official status from Atlas Paul?  And is the end in sight?
