OK...guess I will go first this week (very cool station by the way UP/Richie)

I finished the Valican scene by putting in ground cover and ballasting the track (oh, and weathering the backdrop a tiny bit...thx for the suggestion NScaleSP!)





The log yard is a good place to store  out-of-the-box log loads while they wait for empty log bunks



...and also hosted 9 HO'er friends for a C&W ops session last night.  Well 8 HO'ers and one TT'er!











A good time was had by all I think.

I finished up the hand-built curved turnout installation at the south end of Hamlet Yard this week, so that I now have a mainline and two arrival/departure tracks that are all double-ended.  The capacity and operating efficiency of this yard just increased dramatically.  Obviously, wiring the frogs, paint, and ballast remain, but the turnouts and their slide switch ground throws are working well.  Time to run some more trains.

I lived just a few miles from that station for some years and passed by it almost every day
yes it is an interesting both in location and architecture

brought back so many fond memories

ALSO

thanks to Joetrain59 for posting the Jim Thorpe (Mauch Chunk) station
have spent many Saturdays taking in the sights and experiences of that area
the Autumn excursions to the trestle northward is quite the ride
with much for the eye to see and appreciate

again many good memories

Finished up the remodel on the DPM Apothecary, now occupied by Skovby's Menswear.

Also did some work on the rowhouses.  More pics as soon as they come back from Fotomat.

That looks very nice, Mark.  You have just the right amount of weathering, to my eye.  Very artistic (OMG, I didn't say that.)

Spring comes to Verdemont!
Well, after many months of gruntwork, wiring, soldering, switch machine installs, not to mention dripping hot solder on my chest under the layout, I've decided to come up for air and do some scenery work. Not that ballasting is my favorite task....

Here's some progress shots on a narrow, 9" wide shelf, just below Verdemont, Cal.

Great stuff everyone!

I started on my first project in a few years. A small 2x4ish layout loosely based on C&O in central Virginia. Just something to work on when time and funds allow. It's still very much in the planning stage.

Welcome back!  It's good to hear from you.  I look forward to following along on the build of your new layout.  If you need any C&O rolling stock (circa 1970s) on the cheap, let me know.  I gave the Virginia Central away several years ago, and some of my C&O rolling stock has been collecting dust for years.
