Athearn F45 & FP45s have come and almost gone at MBK in less than a day unless this was a small initial shipment again. What it is getting is ridiculous how little time products are actually available for purchase if not pre irdered.

The distributor has all DC versions except the Santa Fe Super Fleet and MRL in stock still. None of the sound units shipped from what I understand. The Super Fleets may not have shipped either. There were some QC issues on this batch from Athearn in both N and HO and a bunch of it was going back and put back on the production schedule.

Back story on that is Horizon won't sell to BLW because Pete does not have a storefront.  He did carry Athearn at one point, but had to stop when they were sold to Horizon.

Athearns website stated there wer AC issues and reset the delivery date to tbd so I stopped watching for them. Hopefully more become available.

There can't have been very many received at MBK..  2 of the MILW units in stock still though.

I do kinda like the way MB Klein puts their newest arrivals first as opposed to pre-orders, but you have to be sharp I guess.

Re. the FP45, is the truck center spacing the same with the SD45?  Or other contemporary EMD models (such as SDP40?)

From browsing the MBK website I always thought that if you go to the N scale trains page, the latest arrivals are always listed on top (in chronological order of being received).

I ordered AT&SF Super Fleet #100 from Caboose Hobbies way back when during a pre-order sale, maybe they might still have them?  From checking Athearn's website it looks like most of the Santa Fe units were sent back to China because of QC issues.

Yep.  As far as I know the default sorting order is newest to oldest.

The FP45 truck spacing is the same as the SDP45. The SDP40 uses the same frame as the SD40 and SD45. Just the car body is shoved forward a few feet compared to an SD40 to allow for the addition of the steam generator compartment on the rear.

According to the N Scale Supply web site, these units still have a pre-order status. I don't know how often N Scale Supply updates their web pages?

I suspect that the most reliable way to check is to . . . run a search for the specific item you are looking for (instead of hoping for it to just show up).

At MBK new arrivals appear first when you click on say the N Scale section.

Re-stock does not generally go to the top of the "sort" (with some exceptions).

If you see something go out of stock that you want, click on the item, and under the "add to cart" area there's a link that says something like "email me when in stock" and if you click on the link and supply your email address you will get an email the moment that item is restocked.

The above is based on observation.
